Hubert from Poland

Since May, 32-year-old Hubert from Poland has been working as a Sheet Metal Worker at Fokker Techniek through People with Skills. He takes with him a whole load of experience. Yet it is primarily the peace and clarity that are now worth the most to him.

Bin of international experience

Hubert previously worked for Ryanair in Poland, before which he worked in Turkey, Italy and Hungary. After the corona pandemic, he worked in the Netherlands and Germany as a CNC operator. He also worked at Airbus in Germany in aviation production. His last job before joining Fokker Techniek was as a trailer mechanic.

Now, through People with Skills, he is taking the training program to become a sheet metal worker. He likes that. "A nice mix between practice and theory" according to Hubert. During this paid training Hubert is trained to become a full-fledged sheet metal worker. The first two months they receive intensive training from our trainer Ab, then they go to work in the hangar under the guidance of a buddy. After 12 months, Hubert is taken over and joins Fokker Techniek directly, just like his fellow sheet metal workers in training.

Relocation assistance

When Hubert came to work in the Netherlands through People with Skills, everything was quickly arranged. He says, "They helped me register with the municipality, open a bank account and find housing. Everything went very quickly." For Hubert, that means a lot.

"I don't have to worry about housing or paperwork. They help with everything."

Why did Hubert choose People with Skills?

"It was a good offer, the contact was good and I thought it was a great opportunity," says Hubert. He is also satisfied with the coaching. "We have good contact. If there is anything, we can always turn to Maurice or Ab. They help us with everything."
