Due to company growth, the Piping department is looking for an experienced piping fitter.
After a secondment period, you will be able to join this company on a permanent basis if you prove suitable.
Function
Are you an experienced piping technician with a passion for shipbuilding? We are looking for a piping technician who is responsible for installing and repairing piping systems on board new and to-be-repaired ships. You will work on systems such as pneumatic, hydraulic, sanitary, bilge and ballast systems, using a variety of materials including (stainless) steel, copper and plastic. You make sure that all piping systems are available on time and meet the set quality requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation of work: Ensuring a safe working environment and preparing ship parts according to drawings and specifications.
- Performing piping work: Measurement, alignment and assembly of piping, welding and inspection of installations.
- Identify and resolve malfunctions: Detect and resolve malfunctions and leaks and report complex problems correctly.
- Maintenance and Support: Perform user maintenance on tools and support specialists and suppliers during trial runs.
- Guidance and Supervision: Instruct and supervise less experienced mechanics and apprentices.
