Introduction

Are you a craftsman with a passion for engineering and working with metals? We are looking for a driven bench fitter/assembler. In this position you are responsible for manufacturing, machining and assembling various metal structures and parts. Are you customer-oriented, accurate and do you like variety in your work? Then you might be the person we are looking for! As a bench fitter/assembler you will have the opportunity to further develop your technical skills in an active and challenging work environment.

Function

  • You will assemble components such as rudders, propeller shafts, anchor winches, and other mechanical systems aboard ships. 
  • Fixing defects in machinery, propulsion systems, control systems and other technical installations 
  • Repairing and adjusting anchor winches and other equipment on deck. 
  • You will ensure that all mechanical systems are properly aligned and tuned to maintain optimum ship operation 

What's in it for you

  • At our client, you will receive a salary well above the collective bargaining agreement standard. 
  • In addition, you will receive monthly variable pay on top of your base salary. 
  • You will work 40 hours a week from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Do you work overtime? Then you will receive net compensation for these extra hours. 
  • Our client thinks it's important that you have plenty of time for yourself. Therefore, they offer you 27 vacation days and 13 scheduled days off per year. 
  • You will also receive travel reimbursement and 8% vacation pay. 

Who are you

  • You have a technical education, complemented by experience in (construction) banking and maintenance or repair work. 
  • Experience in machine alignment and adjustment, as well as taking measurements. 
  • You have good communication skills towards both customers and colleagues. 
  • You also have an enthusiastic, inquisitive attitude and a flexible work mentality.
