Introduction

For the paint shop at GKN Fokker we are looking for an accurate and motivated sprayer who wants to use his or her craftsmanship within the aviation industry. In this position, you will directly contribute to the quality and safety of aircraft parts - work that matters, literally and figuratively at a high level.
Function
In this role, you'll work on parts for Airbus - perhaps the aircraft you'll soon be taking on vacation - or military helicopters and luxury private jets, among others. No two days are the same: you will start with a team meeting to go over the planning, after which you will work independently on the pre-treatment, sealing, priming and spraying of high-quality aircraft parts. Specific duties:
- Pre-treatment of parts: sanding, cleaning, degreasing, masking and sealing.
- Mixing different types of paint according to work instructions
- Application of primer and lacquer with a hand spray gun as directed
- Performing minor maintenance and cleaning of spraying equipment
- Visually checking your own work and that of colleagues
- Measuring layer thickness on sprayed parts
- Administrative completion of your work

Who are you
- MBO working and thinking level
- Experience with hand spraying equipment and paint mixing equipment
- Accurate work ethic and affinity for procedures and regulations (including environmental and safety)
- Knowledge of technical manuals, drawings and quality systems
- Basic knowledge of technical English terms
- Experience with computers and MS Office (Excel, Word)
